Majid Al Futtaim was founded in 1992 and is currently a pioneer in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia for shopping malls, communities, retail, and leisure. It owns and operates as many as 22 shopping malls, including Mall of the Emirates, Mall of Egypt, City Centre malls, 12 hotels, three mixed-use communities. The company is also the exclusive franchisee for Carrefour in 38 markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. They also operate 300 Vox Cinema screens along with other entertainment and leisure facilities. Besides owning the rights to the LEGO store and the American Girl in the Middle East, the company has also partnered with Gourmet Gulf and operates in the food and beverage industry. The first residential real estate development of Majid Al Futtaim in Dubai is Tilal Al Ghaf, situated near Dubai Sports City.
